What do you mean by a “collaboration between a Jewish day school and its alumni”?
All Alumni Edition video submissions must represent a collaboration between a Jewish day school and at least one alum. This means that the alum(s) PARTICIPATE in the creation – whether in creative concepting, pre-production, production, post-production, etc – of the video. The alumni partners don’t have to be involved in every step, but they do need to play a significant role in the creation of the video beyond simply being interviewed.

How many times can I vote?
Each voter can submit a single ”thumbs-up” on each video in the contest during the voting period. We identify voters through the email address that they provide. For example, one voter can choose to vote on just one video during the voting period, while another voter chooses to give a “thumbs-up” to multiple videos during the voting period. Until the voting deadline, a voter may remove a vote for a video by unclicking the “thumbs-up” icon (as long as he/she has logged in using his/her email address).

How can I be sure that I’ve voted correctly for my video?
Each To vote on a video, just click on the “thumbs-up“ If you are not logged in yet, a lightbox will prompt you to enter your name, email address, and CAPTCHA verification. Once you hit submit, your vote will be recorded. If you are already logged in, simply click on the “thumbs-up” and your vote will be recorded. If you’d like to remove your vote, just click on the “thumbs-up” again.

How many prizes can my school win?
Each school and its alumni partners can win a participation prize and either a Judge’s Prize or People’s Choice prize. For a description of the prizes, please go to the Prizes page.

How does public voting work?
The public is invited to rate each video by clicking on the “thumbs-up” icon. At the end of the voting period, we will evaluate the results of public voting to determine the public voting winners based on number of votes received for each video.

How will I know how many votes my school has?
The number of votes your video has received will be displayed on each video page during the voting period. Please note that this counter shows an unofficial vote count; all submissions will be audited for fraudulent votes before winners are announced. You can also track the number of times someone has Tweeted, Liked or Shared your video by looking at the count underneath the video, or by reviewing the view statistics and other insights on the video’s YouTube page.

How can I share my video?
Underneath your video you will see options to Like your video on Facebook, Tweet your video on Twitter, and share the link through a wide variety of other social networks by scrolling over the ”Share” button.

How do I know if my promotional efforts are working?
We recommend that you register for a one-on-one distribution consultation to review your promotional efforts and analyze their impact. You can also review the view statistics and other insights on the video’s YouTube page.
